This is collected for the purpose of being a self employed sole trader interpreter or translator and/or being a client of with The Wales Interpretation and Translation Service

How do we store your data?

The Wales Interpretation and Translation Service securely stores your data on secure software packages that are help within Cardiff Council ICT where there are policies and process in place to ensure your data is held securely.

The Wales Interpretation and Translation Service will keep your Interpreter/Translator data for as long as you are registered with us. If Interpreters or Translators no-longer with to be registered with The Wales Interpretation and Translation Service, data is archived for 7 years in line with financial retention guidelines. Once this time period has expired, we will delete your data through ICT Policies for deletion.

The Wales Interpretation and Translation Service will keep your Interpreter/Translator requests from clients for 12 months. The data is archived for 7 years in line with financial retention guidelines. Once this time has expired, we will delete your data through ICT Policies for deletion.

What is our lawful basis for processing your personal data?

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing personal data is:
